Toy of the Week Podcast: Jurassic World Super Colossal T-Rex and Star Wars Exclusive

Dinos and Stormtroopers and First Order soldiers, oh my!

Happy Friday, folks. It’s a two-for-one episode this week as Adam talks about the new Star Wars Finn vs. Phasma set and the epic Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Colossal T-Rex. With so many new figures in stock, it can be hard to pick just one to focus on. Fortunately, these two sets are stellar.

It’s big, it’s hollow, and it’s got a super sweet paint job. The Super Colossal T-Rex is 41-inches of pure unadulterated awareness and is easily the biggest Jurassic Park toy currently available – if not the biggest ever made. With a moveable mouth, you can pop in mini action figures (think humans, smaller dinos, etc.), and then easily retrieve them through a trapdoor-like feature in the stomach. Now, you’d think that for a figure this size there wouldn’t be much articulation. Sure, you’d think that, but you’d be wrong. This bad boy features movable arms, legs, and even comes with ankle articulation. As Adam describes it, it looks just like the terrifying T-Rex from Sam Winston’s original movie design. Plus, it’s bigger than Trypticon, who’s a terrifyingly towering robotic dino in his own right.

If you’re in the market for a giant T-Rex (and really who isn’t?), this one’s a great pick.

And then we also have the Star Wars: The Last Jedi Finn vs. Phasma Exclusive. Not to be confused with the previous release from Rogue One, this new set features updated uniforms and improved sculpts. Finn comes in his First Order outfit and includes his blaster pistol and riot baton. While his hat’s not removable, he does feature an impeccable paint job with glossy black boots and a crystal clear head sculpt.

Meanwhile, Phasma comes with improved posabilty, which means she can now double grip her blaster. Her helmet also features a crisper sculpt and the iconic Stormtrooper armor includes a beautiful silver paint job. Not only is this an exclusive release, the set is 100% Force Link compatible with different explosive sound effects and voice features, which you can hear Adam play.
